Wellness Classic Tournament raises funds for heart services

The fourth annual Salem Hospital Foundation's Wellness Classic Golf Tournament netted close to $44,000 for cardiac services at Salem Hospital.

The fourth annual Salem Hospital Foundation's Wellness Classic Golf Tournament netted close to $44,000 for cardiac services at Salem Hospital.

Since the tournament began in 2008, the event has raised over $120,000 for various programs and services at Salem Hospital.

This year, all proceeds will be donated to support Salem Hospital's cardiac programs.

The Foundation has provided funding for equipment such as electrophysiology mapping systems for heart patients suffering from abnormal or irregular heartbeats, cardiac resource guides for patients to take home when they leave the hospital, and community education programs, including forums.

Presenting sponsors of the scramble tournament, held at Creekside Golf Club, were Kurt Salmon; Drs. Selma & Bud Pierce; Turner Construction; and Mountain West Investment Corporation.
