The West Valley Hospital Foundation has established a scholarship program for Polk County residents who are pursuing careers in healthcare professions.

The West Valley Hospital Foundation has established a scholarship program for Polk County residents who are pursuing careers in healthcare professions.

Applications are currently available, and must be returned by March 31, 2009.

Applicants must have a permanent residence in Polk County, or be a West Valley Hospital employee or family member of a West Valley Hospital employee, and must have applied to a college in their field of healthcare study before applying for this scholarship. Scholarship winners will be announced in May.

“We’re happy to be able to make funds from the West Valley Hospital Foundation available to help students further their education, and some day be part of the health care workforce,” said Lane Shetterly, Foundation board chairperson.

The West Valley Hospital Foundation, guided by a 15 member volunteer board of directors, is dedicated to raising, managing and distributing funds to help West Valley Hospital achieve its mission of improving the health and well-being of the people and community it serves.
